Artwork

I asked our art teacher if she would be able to help me out with framing some student artwork for my office. I gave her two frames and couldn’t wait to see what might be hanging soon in my office. Around the halls, in our conference room, and in Cathy (my principal’s office), are various displays of students work they’ve completed in class. Would I have a three dimensional picture, flowers, landscape, animal, I had no idea, but I was excited to have something displayed.

Not all that much time had passed, when Michelle came to my office holding something in her hands. It was some sort of paper, no frames, so I wasn’t sure what she had. She said to me, I couldn’t wait to show you your artwork. Oh my gosh I thought, she has something for me! She turned around the two pieces to show me… My jaw hit the floor!!! OMG!!! I could not believe my eyes. Michelle asked a couple students if they would be willing to create something for my office. These two girls said they would do it. These pictures were amazing!!! I was so touched. One of the pieces was a drawn and perfectly colored Charcoal gray Ford F150…Yes, this is my truck! The student figured out which vehicle was mine in the staff parking lot and she ran with it. She had so much detail. It really was my truck! The other piece was a caricature, of ME!! Damn, do I look good (I owe this girl big time! Talk about making a person feel good about themselves. I told her she could draw me anytime if she made me look like that…ha ha).

These girls are extremely talented, and they created their designs completely on their own. These are definitely high on the list of best gifts I’d ever received. Both pictures are now framed and proudly displayed in my office. When I have students in my office I will catch them looking at the picture and then looking at me, many saying , “hey, that’s you!”

                

I will hold onto these pieces of artwork, forever!!
